Thickner 005 [Brilliancy, solidity & feel]

 

Product Attributes:

 

• Thickner 005 is a new generation eco- friendly (Restricted Substances List compliant, viz. APEO free etc.) polymeric thickener for aqueous pigment printing which has been designed to address following problems:

 

• Brilliancy: Thickner 005 latest version eliminates the blackish hue and dulling of the pigment prints.

 

• Solidity: Printing pastes made with Thickner 005 can cover the weaving imperfections especially in large blotches.

 

• Feel: The aqueous printing done with pigments in dark shades always gives harsher feel, which forced the printer to opt for reactive/solvent based printing. The latest version of Thickner 005 gives reactive like feel.

 

Thus it allows the printer to switch from reactive/solvent printing to pigment printing easily (without any increase in printing cost).

Appearance : Whitish translucent liquid

Bulk Viscosity : 500 – 4000 cps @ 30^oC

 

 

Thickener Consumption will depend upon:

• Binder quality (% solid) and electrolyte content. For best results it is ideal to use Worldtex binder (binder-WTLN), which is compatible with our thickener. This will also give higher fastness.

 

• Pigment Emulsion: Emulsifier, electrolyte content will affect drop in viscosity.

 

• Quality Assurance reg. consumption: Once the product is approved by the customer, it is recommended to keep 5-10 kgs sample in a sealed container for future reference/comparison of consumption in subsequent supplies.

N.B: Shake the container well while using the product from the container in case it has been stored for more than 6 months.

Storage:

• Do not store in direct sun or at a temperature higher than 45???C.

• Always keep the cap closed after each withdrawal of the material from the carboy. Minimum shelf life of the product is 6 months

Acry Thick KWT-60

 

ACRYLIC THICKNER

 

Thickner KWT-60 is an acid – containing cross-linked Acrylic emulsion co-polymer. When the emulsion diluted with water and neutralized with a base, each emulsion particle swells greatly. The emulsion clarifies under these conditions and becomes highly viscous. Thickner KWT-60 being a Poly acrylic thickner gives superior performance than conventional thickner like CMC, HEC. Storage stability of paint with Thickner KWT-60 is much superior that CMC or HEC. Solutions for use are prepared rapidly since neutralization occurs instantaneously with a variety of standard bases. Handling is greatly simplified, compared to that required with powdered natural or synthetic gums, cellulose thickner. It is frequently possible to incorporate Thickner KWT-60 directly into the system to be thickened without pre-neutralization. This avoids handling a viscous thickener solution. Thickner KWT-60 fully neutralizes at a pH 8.0 approximately. Solutions of Thickner KWT-60 effectively suspend pigment, abrasive and other finely divided solids.

APPLICATION

 

Thickner KWT-60 is also useful for viscosity adjustment of emulsion and latex compounds of many types. In such applications Thickner KWT-60 is complementary to the action to linear thickners.

World RHEO 27

Rheological Additive for Solvent Base & Oil Base

World RHEO 27 rheological additive is an organic derivative of a bentonite clay. It is designed for moderate to high polarity organic system and for synthetic binders.

HOW and WHERE to incorporate WORLD RHEO 27

• WORLD RHEO 27as a dry powder is added directly to the resin/solvent blend and is thoroughly mixed for 10 minutes. A chemical activator should be added next and mixed 10 minutes. The pigments and filers are then added dispersed with high shear for at least 15 minutes.

Addition of WORLD RHEO 27 as pre-gel of 05%~10% by weight, the solvent is charged to the mixing tank. WORLD RHEO 27 powder is added and dispersed under high shear. A chemical activator can be introduced to optimize gelation. Pre-gel is added to the resin/solvent mixture with string. Pigments and fillers are then incorporated and dispersed under high shear.

LEVELS OF USE

• WORLD RHEO 27 to be added are between 0.5 and 1.0%.

World RHEO 38

Rheological Additive for Solvent Base & Oil Base

World RHEO 38 is modified organo clay, designed especially for use in solvent base and oil base system including intermediates low polarity range organic liquid.

How and where to incorporate World RHEO 38

•World RHEO 38 disperses under high shear and requires a polar activator (30%~40%) for the best efficiency. Heat is not required to obtain good dispersion. Addition levels are typically in 0.2%~2.0%. Polar activator (95% Ethanol or 95% Methanol) is needed. Normally addition level of polar of polar activator is recommended to be 30%~40% of World RHEO 38 in weight.

World Rheo 3452

Rheological Additive for Solvant Base & Oil Base

World RHEO 3452 is modified organo clay, designed especially for use in solvent base and oil base system. It can be used widely in solvents and oils from low polarity to medium-high polarity.

How and where to incorporate WORLD RHEO 3452

• World RHEO 3452 disperses under high shear and requires a polar activator for the best efficiency. Heat is not required to obtain good dispersion. Addition levels are typically in 0.2%~2.0%. Polar activator (95% Ethanol or 95% methanol) is needed. Normally addition level of polar activator is recommended to be 45%~60% of World RHEO 3452 in weight. If xylene system, addition level of polar activator is about 30%~40% of World RHEO 3452 in weight.

Pre- gel is made as below procedure:

1. Charge solvent to mill.

2. Slowly add World RHEO 3452 (6-10% by weight of total pre-gel) to mill under agitation.

3. Mix at high speed for 5 minutes.

4. Add polar activator.

5. Mix at high speed for 5 minutes.
